From Kiama, about half the drive to Wollongong

01The trip

Two ways in from Kiama

The quicker way on a map runs through Jamberoo: out along Jamberoo Road, through the village and over into Albion Park, arriving by Terry Street a short way from Tongarra Road. It is the prettier drive of the two.

Or take the highway north and come off at Tongarra Road. Either way, allow twenty to twenty-five minutes. Kiama is on the South Coast line too, and Albion Park station is 2.8 km from the studio: about a 35 minute walk, or a short cab ride.

If it is your first tattoo

First tattoos are welcome here, and so are questions: what hurts, how long it takes, how to look after it afterwards. The aftercare guide covers the healing weeks, and the FAQ covers booking, age rules and what to do before you come in.

Small, fine pieces are a good first tattoo, and fine line is one of the things this studio does well. For something bigger, black and grey is where most of the crew's portfolio sits.

06Questions

Coming from Kiama

How far is Albion Park from Kiama?

About 18 km. Allow twenty to twenty-five minutes, either north on the highway to Tongarra Road or through Jamberoo. The studio is at 155 Tongarra Rd, Albion Park.

What are your opening hours?

Monday to Friday 10am to 5pm, and Saturday 10am to 4pm. Closed Sundays. If you are driving up for a walk-in, ring (02) 4257 8288 first and we will tell you who is free.

Is a small fine line piece a good first tattoo?

Often, yes. It is quick, heals easily and lets you find out how you handle it. Talk it through with your artist, because very fine detail at a very small size can blur over the years, and they will tell you honestly what will hold up.
